Recipes allow you to set pre defined restriction that can be applied on a particular day, time or location. These restrictions will continue to be applied on this basis until you disable or delete the recipe.
Step 1 - Location:
When creating a recipe the first thing that you'll have to do is select the location you want the recipe to be active:
This can be everywhere or at a specific location that you define.
Step 2 - Pre-Defined or Custom:
In this step you will configure your restrictions, this can be one of the pre-defined restrictions (For example: Restricting games) or you can create a custom event:
Note:We will be creating a custom event in this guide.
Step 3 - Define Date and Time:
Skip this step when creating a custom recipe as this will be be defined later.
Step 4 - Confirmation:
Give your new recipe a name then tap Create.
Once you have created your custom recipe, you can now define the restrictions. From the recipe menu, tap the new recipe you have created.
When you select a recipe you can see the details, here you can also apply restrictions to the device and change the options you set in the previous steps.
Tap Restrictions located at the bottom of the window. Using the Device functionality options you can disable the core apps and app categories as discussed in the Device functionality help article.
It is recommended to use the Enable Apps lock feature as all apps that are installed on the iPad are listed.
From this list you can choose the apps that you want to make available. Tap each app that you want to remain on the iPad during this time and tap done.
Select the days and times this recipe should be active:
Here I have chosen week days from 20:00 until 23:30pm (please note that you can only define a restriction that occurs within the same day).
